Memorial trip for Miles Alfred King in Albuquerque

I went to Albuquerque two weeks ago to visit my Aunt Emily and cousin Katie to celebrate Miles’ life. He was my favorite great uncle. He passed away December 5th; he was the first person I was close to that passed away. The Friday that I was there would have been his birthday and it was Emily’s birthday on Sunday. It was really hard for me. I am still getting over it.

My trip to Albuquerque was great. I was there from April 21-24. I will post about restaurants and the hotel separately. This post is about my family.

I felt two peoples’ absence–Miles and my grandfather, Bob King. I have been to Albuquerque a few times before and Miles and Bob were always there. They were not this time and I really felt their absence. It was so nice to see Emily and Katie!!! The trip was really worth it and it was good to celebrate Emily’s birthday with her.

We went to Santa Fe on Friday and Old Town Albuquerque on Saturday; watch for my food reviews soon.

I got to see where my parents got married in Santa Fe. They said the hotel really changed in the 26 years since then. I found an awesome bath bomb at a store in Santa Fe called Nova Spa.

Can my followers check in with me to see how I am doing?

Thank you for making the long journey to come and see us in Albuquerque! I felt so blessed to see you all and will forever be grateful for the visit. 🙏🏽 It was the first visit from family since the passing of your Uncle Miles. The love that you shared lifted our spirits and helped us not feel so alone in this world. I am so thankful for you and your mom and dad. You didn’t just forget about us once Uncle Miles went to heaven! I am sorry that we lost Uncle Miles so soon. He was truly a remarkable man who happened to love you dearly!! He loved his nick name of “cute knees” and always enjoyed talking about the cute blondes that you had met. He was very jealous🤣 I haven’t been good about writing because I am trying to take care of Katie and heal from our tremendous loss. Your grandpa Bob and Uncle Miles are cut from the same cloth; both so loving unconditionally with great big hearts. Sounds like someone I know!! Thank you for your love! With All My Love, Aunt Emily & Katie
