Children’s Hospital is my Favorite (and so is Dr. Joyce)

This place is near and dear to our hearts and so is this doctor. I was at the South Campus today to see Dr. Joyce. This campus is much more quiet and intimate than the main campus. I feel like I get the best care ever there. When I have to have a procedure, they have quiet induction rooms and I can be with my mom while I go to sleep. And this angel (Dr. Joyce) will hold my hand.

Don’t get me wrong, the main campus is amazing too, but it is louder and busier and I like calm. They are both my home away from home.

I have known Dr. Joyce since I was in 8th grade (10 years). I have had so many hospital stays with her and I am ok because I get to see her most of the time. I wish you all could meet this sweet angel!!!

They are starting to talk about transitions to adult care and I am really scared to leave this doctor. I hope it doesn’t have to happen for a long time.

I ate lunch there today and it is so much quieter than the main campus. The main campus is so big and so is their cafeteria. I like the smaller, quieter cafeteria. I had their wings and French fries and my mom had the daily special–pot pie (I helped her eat that). The pot pie was the bomb. They homemade the top crust and it was so good! I would really recommend the pot pie if you go to the South Campus.

I know some people don’t like to go to the hospital, but I really do!

Kabod Coffee in DIA

Located in Main Terminal of Denver International Airport on the 6th level

Accessibility & Seating5Wide open; opens into airport
Noise Level5Typical airport noise
Food/Drink5Awesome
`5 Spoon Rating

I love the airport and I went last night to pick up my cousin, Moira (she is one of my caregivers as well). Of course, I always have to stop for a coffee and I found this new place in the airport. I ordered the iced marble mocha. It was really rich and yummy. It had dark and white mocha in it and I topped it with whipped cream and a mocha drizzle. It wasn’t too strong, which I like because I have acid reflux and too much coffee can bother me.

I want people to come visit me and we will try it together when you fly in.

The airport is starting to look new as they are opening up the finished areas. There is still construction, but they have it marked well to get around. I can’t wait to travel and use the new check in kiosks. I will let you know how that goes when I travel this summer.

Kneader Kneader Kneader

Arapahoe & Jordan (Centennial, CO)

No reservations/walk-in only

5 Spoon Scale

Accessibility & Seating  2Really tight-tables too close
Noise Level  5Went at off peak time
Food  4 Very satisfying

I went to Kneaders with Baba and my mom March 25th. I love it. I ordered the Cinnamon Crunch French Toast. It was really sweet, which I like. They gave me syrup that tasted like it had the butter in it. The bread they make it with is really thick. There were strawberries on the side. My mom and I split an order of bacon. The bacon was ok. My mom ordered the pancakes and Baba had an American omelette. They seemed to like theirs.

My iced mocha was really really really good.

You order at the counter and that was easy for me to get to. The rest of the restaurant is hard to maneuver in my wheelchair. The tables are really close together, so it is hard to get my chair through the aisles between tables. Luckily, we went at an off peak time so it wasn’t an issue. I sat at the end of a really long table with permanent seats by the front so that people could walk around me. It isn’t too loud inside, but it was really cold in there. I am not sure if the heater was broken; it was a cold morning outside.

I think everybody should try Kneaders.
