Kabod Coffee in DIA

Located in Main Terminal of Denver International Airport on the 6th level

Accessibility & Seating5Wide open; opens into airport
Noise Level5Typical airport noise
Food/Drink5Awesome
`5 Spoon Rating

I love the airport and I went last night to pick up my cousin, Moira (she is one of my caregivers as well). Of course, I always have to stop for a coffee and I found this new place in the airport. I ordered the iced marble mocha. It was really rich and yummy. It had dark and white mocha in it and I topped it with whipped cream and a mocha drizzle. It wasn’t too strong, which I like because I have acid reflux and too much coffee can bother me.

I want people to come visit me and we will try it together when you fly in.

The airport is starting to look new as they are opening up the finished areas. There is still construction, but they have it marked well to get around. I can’t wait to travel and use the new check in kiosks. I will let you know how that goes when I travel this summer.

Kneader Kneader Kneader

Arapahoe & Jordan (Centennial, CO)

No reservations/walk-in only

5 Spoon Scale

Accessibility & Seating  2Really tight-tables too close
Noise Level  5Went at off peak time
Food  4 Very satisfying

I went to Kneaders with Baba and my mom March 25th. I love it. I ordered the Cinnamon Crunch French Toast. It was really sweet, which I like. They gave me syrup that tasted like it had the butter in it. The bread they make it with is really thick. There were strawberries on the side. My mom and I split an order of bacon. The bacon was ok. My mom ordered the pancakes and Baba had an American omelette. They seemed to like theirs.

My iced mocha was really really really good.

You order at the counter and that was easy for me to get to. The rest of the restaurant is hard to maneuver in my wheelchair. The tables are really close together, so it is hard to get my chair through the aisles between tables. Luckily, we went at an off peak time so it wasn’t an issue. I sat at the end of a really long table with permanent seats by the front so that people could walk around me. It isn’t too loud inside, but it was really cold in there. I am not sure if the heater was broken; it was a cold morning outside.

I think everybody should try Kneaders.

Castlewood Library Staff Rocks!!!

As most of you know, I have a disability. While I was at Castlewood Library with Mary Kate yesterday, some little kids came up to me and asked me what was wrong with me. I get really nervous to talk to strangers and a librarian (Karen, who knew me from high school) took care of me. She kindly explained what happened to me; she told them what I can and can’t do and answered their questions. Thank you Karen for always helping me while I am at the library. All the people at Castlewood are amazing too. They always help me find my things and help me return my huge quantity of items (up to 400 at times). I know they all have golden hearts!

I’m Back!!

Hi! I’m back. It’s been a while since I have written. How are you? I miss you. I will be writing about libraries, restaurants, and my life. I have been getting out and about more and would like to share it with you. Do you have any place you want me to go and check out? Let me know and I’ll make a point of going there and reviewing it. Maybe we could go there together.

My Surgery

I am worried about surgery. Can you guys help me wake up safely like I normally would at the hospital? I am not waking up as easily after iron infusion with Dr. Smith. I will be there on May 26th. Can you please let my mom back in the operating room because she knows me the best? It wouldn’t be normal for me to be there without her. If I start telling you I am hot, you won’t understand me and that is what happened last time two years ago.

Can my bloggers send me a happy memory so I have good thoughts in my brain?

When I am in the hospital for surgery

I am having surgery in 3 weeks. I am worried about being depressed with visitor restrictions going on now at the hospital because I am very bright and I always have people around me. I have some ideas to help me stay positive and I want to ask you to please participate because you are really important to me.  Family and friends, can you please participate and face time me. You can facebook me when you can facetime because I will have my computer. If I am feeling up to it I want to do a virtual game night. If you want to participate in the game night please text my mom.  If you have any ideas to help me get through surgery and the hospital stay, please put them in the comments below your blog.

My Iron Infusion

I am getting an iron infusion. They give it to me through an IV. I will be more energetic after I have the infusion. May 8th is my last day on lock down and I am looking forward to having more energy to hang out with people. Let me know when you want to hang out with me after May 8th. I am looking forward to seeing people but keeping socially distance.

Please see my last weeks blog and send me suggestions and write me letters.

Thank you for always supporting me. Your support has been greatly appreciated!

Help me something people

I need some help with masks. Everyone please send me pictures or facetime me wearing your mask on your face. This will help me gradually expose myself to masks so I’m ready when the time comes for me to go out. Masks make me kind of nervous and this would help.

I also want to ask my blog followers for things to do in the afternoon when I get down. Aunt Kathy, you may be asked to do a dance! Ling Ling, maybe you too! Baba, you and grandpops may be asked to facetime me more often.

Looking forward to hearing from my blog followers!

Grand Opening of Castlewood

As some of you may know, my favorite library closed to remodel and they are having a grand opening party. Let me know if you are interested in coming. I don’t know when it will be because of the COVID-19. But I will keep you guys updated. I know the manager very well. I would love to see everyone there that I know, even if you are out of town!

My Isolation

I have been isolated since March 30th and I really really don’t like it.  What should I do to be entertained? I have been Skyping people. Could you please write me a letter because I have been responding really well. They bring me smiles to read the letters.  And I will write you back. Message me if you need my address. I hope you are well. I can’t wait for the library to be open again.
